About usWe are
the future
of food
Locally grown, locally sourced, locally made
Our missionFood justice reimagined
Having access to affordable nutritious food is a human right. But it continues to be out of reach for many low-income neighborhoods and communities of color. We’re building a local ecosystem where every aspect of our food system—from who grows what we eat to who sells it—is deeply connected and rooted in the needs of our communities.
280
Pounds of produce a monthEach month, we move an estimated 200–280 pounds of food through local farms and markets, reinforcing that even flexible, community-based systems deliver real volume.
11
Partners in Los AngelesOur network includes 11 partners across Los Angeles, united in strengthening local farms, markets, and community food access.
$2.4M
invested in local food systemsTo date, we’ve directed $2.3 million in grants and investments into local urban farms and markets—strengthening neighborhood food access and keeping resources rooted in our communities.
What we stand forJustice from the garden to the streets & back
Food isn’t just a means of sustenance but a way for us to take care of one another. Our work is grounded in social justice, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to circulating resources and economic opportunities within this place we call home.
01
The right to good food and a healthy life
Black, Brown, Indigenous, and immigrant communities already experience disproportionate rates of chronic health diseases. Increasing access to affordable, nutritious food and circulating money back into our neighborhoods helps keep folks fed and our communities healthy.
02
Democratizing agriculture by building up collective power
The master gardeners of today are made up of diverse urban farmers found in community gardens, church parking lots, and hydroponic nurseries. Urban agriculture has the potential to flourish and fuel our food ecosystem at scale—when we support it with the right resources.
03
Moving beyond just transactions & into something deeper
Food and retail businesses, big and small, provide communities access to essential resources. By sourcing from local producers, businesses and local institutions can redistribute resources into our local economy—while meeting the needs of communities they are accountable to.
Who we areDeeply rooted in community
With extensive experience in advocacy to agriculture and research to retail, our staff has the expertise to help your business thrive—while you keep our communities well-fed.
